How to Check Whether Your Phone is Original or Fake

Type *#06# and press dial button then you can get a 15 digit code (IMEI).


IMEI means International Mobile Equipment Identity. It composed of 15 digits and you can also find it in the packet of the mobile phone or by removing the back cover and it is placed directly under its battery.

The number might be as the one shown below:

Now, have a look at the 7th and 8th digits. These two digits will tell you your phone’s quality:
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 00 this means that your phone is made in Original Factory which is the best quality.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 01 or 10 this means that your phone is made  in Finland which is a high quality.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 13 this means that your phone is made  in Azerbaijan which is too bad. And it is also dangerous for health!
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 02 or 20 this means that your phone is made in Emirates which is a very poor quality
  • If 7th and 8th digits are either 03/30 or 04/40, this means that your phone is made in China, yet its quality is good. But not good as 00, 01 or 10.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 05 or 50 this means that your cell phone is made either in Brazil or USA or Finland.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 06 or 60 this means that your phone is made either in Hong Kong, or China or Mexico.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 08 or 80 this means that your phone is made in Germany which is a fair quality.
