How to Master Reset a SONY XPERIA M Smartphone

Option 1: Hard Reset SONY XPERIA M with Software Menu:

1. Make sure the battery is fully charged.
2. Turn on SONY XPERIA M smartphone.
3. Don’t forget to backup important data.
4. Go to menu: Setting > Backup & reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone 
5. Choose Erase everything to continue and format SONY XPERIA M.
6. SONY XPERIA M will continue the step until ready to use in clean factory default.

Option 2: Hard Reset SONY XPERIA M with Flashtool application:

1. Download Flashtool Application and install it.
2. Download and install SONY XPERIA USB Driver.
3. Make sure SONY XPERIA M battery is fully charged.
4. Power off SONY XPERI.
5. Boot SONY XPERIA M to flashmode by using: Volume Down Button and connect to USB cable.
6. Follow the menu at you computer display, it is easy to understand the steps.

Option 3: Hard Reset SONY XPERIA M with Hardware Key Button:

1. Make sure the battery fully charged.
2. Do not forget to backup important data.
3. Turn off the SONY XPERIA M.
4. Press and Hold together: Power Button + Volume Up Button for few seconds.
5. Follow the menu at LCD screen to continue the hard reset SONY XPERIA M.

Option 4: Hard Reset SONY XPERIA M with PC Companion Software from Computer

1. Make sure the battery is charged.
2. Download PC Companion application for Sony Smartphone from Sony Website.
3. Open PC Companion Application.
4. Before connect to phone, please choose Phone Update and follow some steps at PC Companion application.
5. At some menu, PC Companion tells us how to connect the phone with PC Companion using USB cable and press the Volume Down button
6. Finish the PC Companion step and until it is doing Factory Reset to SONY XPERIA M to factory default Android operating system.
